Do you know someone who is dedicating his or her life to educate others about breast cancer and/or the importance of early detection? Someone with a strong commitment to the cause? Made an impact on people’s live? Well, if you do, nominate her to be one of the 2008 Yoplait Champions!

Yoplait and Susan G. Komen for the Cure are searching for 25 individuals doing extraordinary things in the fight against breast cancer. Each of the champions will receive a $1,000 donation from Yoplait to the breast cancer charity of their choice. Nomination forms and criteria are available on Yoplait.com and will be accepted through November 6.

Past champions have been breast cancer patients, survivors and advocates as well as daughters, mothers and husbands of those touched by the disease. Utilizing previous life and professional skills, they started nonprofit foundations, hosted comedy parties as fund raisers, established mobile mammography units to service underinsured women, instituted scholarships for high school students affected by breast cancer and created breast cancer support groups, Web sites and survival guides.

“We want to bring together women and men who are helping others get through breast cancer through their actions and kindness,” said Camille Gibson, Vice President of Yoplait. “It is an honor to connect these intelligent and persevering minds, to help them exchange ideas and increase their potential to assist others. We hope the Champions’ stories will inspire women and men across the country to take action.”

Nominations require a 1,000-word or less description of how the nominee embodies a champion, illustrating the creativity and innovative thinking put forth to further the fight against breast cancer. All this and more is recapped at Yoplait.com — and you can see the champions and watch their videos … it’s cool.
