Newsworthy News
I’m passing on an excerpt from an MSNBC news story:
“The death rate from breast cancer continues to drop steadily–by approximately 2% annually, according to the American Cancer Society.”
Wait … don’t get all excited … read on … the decline is in part because women stopped taking hormone replacement therapy and fewer women got mammograms and therefore were not diagnosed.
ARRRGGHHHH!
Fewer women getting mammograms!!!!!
ARRRGGHHHH!!

Makes you mad doesn’t it? The tools are there, the education is there..and you wonder what is WRONG with these people when they don’t take care of their bodies?!?

Makes me crazy mad.
I think when you face death with a cancer diagnosis, you realize how life saving the procedure is, and how people should do whatever they can to never face death themselves!

I wonder why women don’t have this test. Fear of the machine? Fear of what they might find? I have a friend who is now 48 and she had her first mammo this month because she found a lump. Thankfully it is nothing cancerous and I’m glad that she had it checked out. The best we can do is to continue to speak out and up about regular BSEs and mammograms, hopefully getting the message heard.
