July Book Club Selection

Remember this? I haven’t forgotten. It turned into the July/August Book Club Selection. I’ll review Allison Winn Scotch’s debut book tomorrow. Eventually I’ll choose a book for September (suggestions always welcome!).

Discussing Breast Cancer is the place for survivors, their friends and family members to turn for information that will empower them to navigate through the storm they may find themselves in before, during or after a breast cancer diagnosis.
Many of the posts are about the author's personal experience as a two time survivor. In addition, Discussing Breast Cancer is loaded with timely news and information about the disease, it's symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment. It will also reference the myriad of sites, individuals and organizations that either raise money and/or awareness for the cause or in some way contribute to researching a cure or serving breast cancer survivors worldwide.

Karen, are you still doing the book club? How can I join?
Thanks for your site and for your work in organizing and reviewing books!

Sherry, yes, I’m still doing the book club; it’s ongoing. Look to the site for announcements about featured upcoming books, read them at the same time I read them, and wait for me to post my review (or email me one of your very own and you’ll get to ’speak’ first). Once a review is posted, it’s up to the readers and I to continue the discussion or move on to the next book!

Thanks Karen! I’m waiting for my copy of “Department of Lost and Found” to come in to my library and after reading your views and review, I’m anxious to read it!! I’ll let you know of anything I find that is worthy. Are we sticking strictly to breast cancer books? I have to admit, I didn’t read any while I was being diagnosed and undergoing treatment. Now that I am finished all treatment and into moving beyond, NOW is when I have the readiness to read what other people have written, both fiction and non-fiction.

As I mentioned in my post about your thoughts on the book, I’ve got my copy from the library which I will read over the weekend. I’m looking forward to it.
Any thoughts on what else to read or are you waiting for others to come up with suggestions?

Karen, I just picked up a copy of “Nordie’s At Noon” from the library. If you haven’t made a selection for September yet, would you be interested in this as the book club choice?
