Beauty for the Cause
I need to lighten my mood. So, you know how I love pink products … and this sure is the month for them. In fact, I’m doing a round up, by category, and today we’re gettin’ gorgeous for the cause. I’m starting with my favorites:

I’m a Clinique girl. If you are, too, then head on over to the Clinique website and click on the pink ribbon next to their logo in the upper left hand corner of the homepage. Then check it out … when you buy this limited-edition Dramatically Different™ Moisturizing Lotion you get all three decorative charms: a silver Clinique “C”, a miniature 3-Step Skin Care and a Breast Cancer Awareness Pink Ribbon. $10.00 from your purchase goes to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. They also link to information about the book I reviewed here earlier this year, “Cancer Vixen” … seems the Clinique campaign was her idea!
Here’s something I never leave the house without: Chapstick! Thank goodness these are back on the shelves. I stock up on them. They make me smile each time I pull one out of my purse. Oh, and for every Pink Ribbon Triple pack of Chapstick® Moisturizer sold, they will donate 30¢ to Susan G. Komen for the Cure with a minimum guaranteed donation this year of $100,000.
I’m also a fan of Opi nail polish — not that I do my own nails, mind you, but it is my brand of choice at the local nail salon. So I was tickled when I saw this: Pink of Hearts. The company is donating $25,000 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure in 2007. Awesome, isn’t it?
There’s a whole smattering of other pink beauty products posted on a blog called Angelina Jolie Watch of all places — but head on over there to see how L’Oreal, Sephora, Estee Lauder and Smashbox are jumping on the awareness bandwagon.
Remember … the pink ribbon was intended to make people aware of the fact that early detection saves lives!!!

I love OPI nail products…and this colour is perfect. A little retail therapy is always good for the soul Karen. I hope it helps to lift your mood. Time and the love of your own little babies will do the rest. ((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))

I love pink products, especially with breast cancer donations. However, most of the products are really girly (yes, that makes sense) but this year I found a product that isn’t clothing or beauty related. It’s a toolkit…and it’s pink! And part of the sales go to breast cancer research. Here’s where I got it: http://www.vat19.com/dvds/little-pink-toolkit.cfm My younger sister just got her first house, so this is a perfect house-warming gift for her.
