Are you ready for some football?

This should be a great weekend for the NFL. Two days. Fourteen games. Pink Towels.

Yes, pink towels. See, Gatorade is working with the NFL to bring increased visibility to the fight against this disease and helping raise funds for breast cancer prevention and treatment. So this weekend (well, Sunday and Monday, October 7th & 8th), NFL players will use special-edition pink Gatorade towels on the sidelines during all 14 games. I’ve got to get fellow 451 Press writer Brian to post about this one at Talking NFL (another 451 Press site).

I’m not necessarily a huge football fan myself. But I did my part for the cause and I managed to get a towel shipped out to me so that I can give it away to one of my readers.

So … want one of these fantastic towels for yourself? Tell me how badly you want one (and who your favorite team and/or player is) in the comment section below and after the weekend’s games are over, I’ll choose someone at random to be the lucky recipient of one new pink Gatorade towel!

The other part of this joint campaign should raise a fair amount of change. Seems NFL players such as Peyton Manning will be autographing towels, then the powers that be will be putting them up for bid on www.nflauction.nfl.com, with proceeds going to breast cancer organizations.

Any Manning fans out there? Be sure to head over to that auction site and see what they’ve got going on.

Where was I? Oh yeah, I said … ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL???????

    Hi Karen

My name is Aimee and I at the age of 33 am a breast cancer survivor. Through the whole ordeal my husband was amazing, I couldn’t have asked for a better blessing. Any how it is Sunday night and we are watching the Green Bay Packers and my husband (David) saw the pink gatorade towels and said you gotta get online and find me that towel!!! Well of course I found it but wouldn’t you know you can only get them when they go up for auction, that is until I came across your article. I have to admit the towel wouldn’t be for me, but for David. I think it would be cool to win a contest and have the prize be for him!! Did I mention that at the end of my chemo he surprised me with a tattoo he got on his ankle of the praying hands of jesus with the pink breast cancer ribbon drapped over them with my name inside the ribbon. I got a tad bit misty eyed over that one. Please consider us for the towel, thanks

    Sincerely

    Aimee

Aimee, I hope you get this towel!! Karen is so very generous with her give-aways and your husband sounds like such a supporter of what he loves…you and football!! I think he would be over the moon if you surprised him with this towel (hint, hint, hint Karen!!!) LOL!!! :)

  3. Karen Lynch Says:

Looks like Aimee gets the towel — or David, however you want to look at it!

    Congratulations!

  4. Sherry Says:

Congratulations to Aimee and David!! Hope he enjoys his towel!!
