451 Press Bloggers are Supporting our Cause

by Karen Lynch

By wearing denim and making donations today. It’s Lee National Denim Day! (Already dressed? It’s not too late. GO CHANGE NOW!!! LOL!!!)

Because I’m slow to read through the posts at the 451 Press bloggers forum, I didn’t know 451 Press bloggers were participating in Lee National Denim Day until today.blue_jeans.jpg

See, even though we here at 451 Press are all independent bloggers, we are part of a company team of sorts. Typically, in a corporation, each employee who wants to participate in this event donates some dough to the cause and then and on October 5 (TODAY), wears blue jeans to work. The proceeds go to a great breast cancer charity.

Fellow 451 Press blogger Allison Boyer, of Find Religion and Reality on Bravo, started a team and is doing her part for the cause.

I love this type of event because anyone can participate, any amount can be donated (heck, $5 can do it, forgo the Starbucks one day and you’re golden), and every survivor is appreciative.

A little effort goes such a long way in our hearts.

I wish I had been privy to this one. Not being in the corporate world myself (thank goodness) I didn’t really come across this one. So I’m sorry I didn’t spur you all on earlier and encourage you to muster up a team in your workplace. Next year … and if I forget, someone please remind me?

So … want to support Allison’s efforts? Here’s a link to the 451 Press team page!

I love my home here … this is one reason why.

About Discussing Breast Cancer

Discussing Breast Cancer is the place for survivors, their friends and family members to turn for information that will empower them to navigate through the storm they may find themselves in before, during or after a breast cancer diagnosis.

Many of the posts are about the author's personal experience as a two time survivor. In addition, Discussing Breast Cancer is loaded with timely news and information about the disease, it's symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment. It will also reference the myriad of sites, individuals and organizations that either raise money and/or awareness for the cause or in some way contribute to researching a cure or serving breast cancer survivors worldwide.
